Out & About

As a freelancer working from a home office, it is important to me to be part of a group. Independent does not have to mean isolated! I am a member of:

Société Française des Traducteurs

The western France section of the SFT meets three times a year. We swap information and ideas and build relations between colleagues. Thanks to the SFT, I can rely on a solid network of trusted translators whose skills I can vouch for.

Institute of Translation and Interpretation

I have been a qualified member of ITI since 2012 and am ISO 17100-certified through the institute. I play an active part in the biennial conferences and chat to colleagues via social media.

Club de la Presse du Maine

A group of local journalists, copywriters, editors meet monthly and organise events to promote media education.

Créapolis

Association to forge ties between “creative” local businesses – copywriters, photographers, translators, web and marketing agencies, architects, interior designers, trainers and coaches – with other local businesses and institutions.

Club des ambassadeurs de la Sarthe

A group of local communications experts and community managers. Monthly meetings to share best practices. Club des ambassadeurs de la Sarthe My work often involves vaunting the merits of the local area and it was natural for me to join the initiative to promote la Sarthe.

AFAM

Club for English-speakers in Le Mans, for everyone to use their English, whatever the level.

Endurance 72

My local running club.
